Plein Air Artist Days

Plein Air is a French expression meaning "in the open air" that describes the act of painting outdoors in efforts to capture the true effects of light on the color of a landscape. After touring the show house, come and experience this art of painting as local artists will be painting on the beautiful grounds of the Failey House.

The Failey House was painted by Plein Air Artist, Reverend Jeffery Burris. Reverend Burris was also an accomplished landscape artist working in oils, for which he won numerous state and regional awards. His works have been represented in several local galleries, as well as the Brown County Art Guild. He was a member of the Hoosier Art Salon, Indiana Artist Club and Indiana Plein Club. The painting remains in the private collection of the Failey family.
